Programming and Curriculums

The Centre operates 4 family grouping rooms, along with a separate 3 and 4 year old kinder. Each child enrolled in the 3 and 4 year old kinder also spend some time in a family grouping room, which allows siblings to spend time together and allows children to experience different social environments.

  • A funded 4 year old kindergarten curriculum is provided and run by a qualified kindergarten teacher in conjunction with our Educational Leader.
  • A 3 year old kindergarten group is offered with the curriculum overseen by our Educational Leader.
  • Through our 'emergent curriculums' based around children's interests in each grouping environment, a range of activities and experiences are offered for each child, which are designed to foster the development of the "whole child" throughout all stages of their development.
  • The children's curriculums are informed by the Early Years Learning Framework. Each child's current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests underpins the curriculum for each group.
  • The children's curriculums provide a balance of indoor and outdoor learning environments that are flexible and cater to diverse interests, needs and learning capacities. Children are able to choose their own resources, materials and environment, which helps to contribute to each child's sense of belonging and challenges them to explore new possibilities.

  • In each of our 6 rooms, our most important goal is to encourage children to be active, enthusiastic and creative explorers of their environment, and to become independent, self-confident and inquisitive learners. We allow them to develop at their own rate and assist in developing positive behaviours and attitudes, particularly a positive sense of themselves.
  • Each child's learning and development is assessed as part of an ongoing cycle that includes planning, documenting and evaluating children's learning. The children's portfolios document each child's learning journey, and are available from each of the children's rooms for children, parents, guardians and family members to have a read of their own child's portfolio at any time.

  • Visual Diaries are available in each of the rooms, which document learning stories from each of the groups. These visual diaries give you an insight into the fun, learning, interests and play that takes place in your child's room. Please take the time to read these diaries to share in your child's time at the Centre. We also ask that you try to contribute to the 'Parent Input' section of the Visual Diary as part of our ongoing assessment and improvement.
  • The Centre holds educator/parent interviews 2-3 times per year and parents are welcomed to meet with educators at any other time should they want to discuss their child.
  • Parents are welcome to make appointments with Qualified Educators to discuss their child's learning and development, or to discuss any issues or concerns you may have at any time.
  • The centre does not undertake excursions, however several times throughout the year we hold incursions, where groups/individuals come in to complement our curriculums, and enhance the children's learning.
  • We encourage and value parent feedback and suggestions regarding children's curriculum and their learning and development.
  • Parents are encouraged to come in and share aspects of their working or family lives with the children to help enhance the curriculum.
